Internships
TransOhio invites students from any academic program to join us in our work through an internship. Our internships offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our community statewide and gain hands-on experience in communications, policy, research, event planning, graphics, community arts, and more. All work completed by interns will directly benefit trans, nonbinary, intersex, and gender nonconforming Ohioans.
Past intern projects include website graphic design, t-shirt design, community research, and community needs writing. Potential future projects could potentially include any of those in addition to social media management and content design, development of educational materials, research on community resources, assistance planning our annual TransOhio Trans & Ally Symposium and/or other events. We are also open to new ideas from potential interns depending on their interests, skills, and backgrounds.
We are able to host interns for a wide range of time depending on needs, availability and desired project. Internships can be structured to fulfill course credit or other academic requirements. We are a volunteer-driven organization and are not able to offer financial compensation at this time.
If interested, please email a letter of interest and any school-specific requirements to dara@transohio.org.
